Responsibilities

The Native English Instructor at Thesaurus House is responsible for the academic success and intellectual growth of Japan’s most advanced English learners.
Our school mainly focuses on preparing students for the Eiken 1st Grade—the highest benchmark of English proficiency in Japan.

At Thesaurus House, our instructors play a key role in empowering students to articulate complex ideas on the global stage.
As the demand for high-level communication grows, our instructors lead intensive training that bridges the gap between language proficiency and intellectual discourse.

Key Responsibilities：
The Native English Instructor will support students in mastering the nuances of high-level English, providing expert feedback on logical expression and critical thinking. Specific responsibilities include:

・Facilitate High-Level Discussions for Eiken Interviews：
Lead debates and simulations on international affairs, Japanese social issues, environmental policies, and global economics.

・Academic Writing Consultancy for Eiken 1st Round：
Provide detailed, constructive feedback on essays, focusing on structure, logic, and vocabulary sophistication.

・Test Preparation Excellence：
Guide students through the rigors of the Eiken 1st Grade and Pre-1st Grade interview formats, ensuring they meet the highest standards of delivery.

・Student Progress Management：
Analyze student performance and adapt teaching strategies to maximize their potential for passing high-stakes exams.

・Collaborate with Internal Staff：
Work closely with the Management team to align instructional methods and ensure a seamless learning experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Native-level English proficiency.
• Educational Background： A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  (Current graduate students with strong academic backgrounds are highly welcome).
• Intellectual Curiosity： A deep interest in and knowledge of current events, global politics, and social issues.
• Logical Thinking： Ability to break down complex arguments and teach the mechanics of logical persuasion.
• Adaptability： Highly motivated to learn the specific requirements of the Eiken exams and adapt to the needs of high-achieving students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in academic writing instruction or coaching for standardized English proficiency exams
  (Eiken, IELTS, TOEFL).
• Familiarity with the Japanese education system or experience teaching high-level Japanese learners.

Job Information

• Payment: 2,400 – 3,600 yen per hour (Commensurate with experience).
• Basis: Part-time.
• Location: Shibuya, Tokyo (1-minute walk from Shibuya Station) or Online.
• Transportation costs covered 100%

• 試験対策の徹底:
  英検1級および準1級の試験形式に精通し、受講生が最高水準のパフォーマンスを発揮できるよう指導。

• 進捗管理:
  受講生のパフォーマンスを分析し、合格の可能性を最大限に引き出すための指導戦略の調整。

• チーム連携:
  マネジメントチームと密に連携し、一貫性のある質の高い学習体験を提供。

応募資格

必須条件

• ネイティブレベルの英語力。
• 学歴: 人文科学、社会科学、または関連分野の学士号以上（優れた学問的背景を持つ大学院生も歓迎します）。
• 知的好奇心: 時事問題、国際政治、社会問題への深い関心と知識。
• 論理的思考: 複雑な議論を分解し、論理的な説得のメカニズムを教える能力。
• 適応力: 英検の試験特性を学ぶ意欲があり、目標意識の高い受講生のニーズに応えられる方。

歓迎条件

• アカデミック・ライティングの指導経験、または英語試験（英検、IELTS、TOEFLなど）のコーチング経験。
• 日本の教育システムへの理解、または上級レベルの日本人学習者への指導経験。

• 給与: 時給 2,400円 ～ 3,600円（経験・能力により決定）。
